A little time away from the workshop can mean a lot. On October 24, 2026, we put our everyday routines on pause for the Megaya Team Gathering 2026, our annual day out dedicated to bringing the Megaya team family closer together.
Our plan included morning prayers, a little exploring, lunch outdoors, games, time to unwind, and one more meal before heading home. From Pura Ulun Danu Beratan to Kebun Raya Bali, the day gave us a chance to spend time together at a different pace.
We often share the clothes we make and the collections we help bring to life. This time, we want to share something about the people behind that work. Here is a look at our annual team gathering in Bali and why this tradition matters to us.
Why We Make Time for Our Annual Team Gathering
At work, there is always something to discuss: a design, a sample, a detail that needs checking, or the next task on the list. We spend a lot of time together, but much of that time naturally revolves around getting things done.
Our annual gathering gives us space for a different kind of conversation. We can catch up, enjoy a shared meal, and get to know one another beyond our day-to-day responsibilities. Sometimes, simply having time to talk is what makes the biggest difference.
For Megaya Bali, the purpose of this tradition is to strengthen the feeling of family within the team. We want to keep building relationships where people feel comfortable with one another and connected to the group.
That was the idea behind our October 24 outing. We planned a day with a mix of meaningful stops and easygoing activities, giving everyone time to enjoy being together.
Starting with Prayers at Pura Ulun Danu Beratan
We began the morning with prayers at Pura Ulun Danu Beratan. Before the walking, games, and meals, we took time for gratitude and reflection.
Starting the day this way felt right for a gathering centred on togetherness. It gave us a moment to pause, appreciate what we share, and begin the journey with a thoughtful intention.
Prayer is a meaningful part of the programme we chose for this outing. Including it in our annual gathering allowed us to bring that part of our lives into the day, alongside the more relaxed activities that followed.
It was a gentle beginning to a full itinerary, with time to slow down before continuing our trip.
A Relaxed Walk Around Ulun Danu Beratan
After prayers, we spent some time exploring the Ulun Danu Beratan area. There was no need to jump straight into the next activity. This was our chance to walk around and enjoy a little time out together.
A simple walk can be a lovely part of a team outing. Conversations happen more naturally when you are moving through a place together, with no work question waiting to be answered.
It also gave the morning a nice balance. We had begun with a reflective moment, and now there was room for a more relaxed change of pace.
That is something we wanted from the gathering as a whole: enough structure to bring everyone together, with space to enjoy the day as it unfolded.
Continuing to Pura Teratai Bang
Our next stop was Pura Teratai Bang, where we continued with prayers. This brought us back to the quieter side of the day before we moved on to lunch and afternoon activities.
Having both temple visits in the programme made gratitude a clear part of the gathering. Alongside enjoying a day out, we had set aside time for something meaningful to us.
We liked having this mix in the itinerary. There was room for reflection and room for fun, with each part of the day offering its own way to connect.
After the visit, it was time to continue to Kebun Raya Bali and settle into the afternoon.
Lunch Together at Kebun Raya Bali
Next on the rundown was lunch at Kebun Raya Bali, also known as Bali Botanic Garden. After the morning’s visits and walking, it was time to take a break and eat together.
Shared meals are always an easy way to bring a group together. You sit down, get comfortable, and have time for the little conversations that do not always fit into a busy working day.
We wanted lunch to be part of the gathering itself, rather than simply a quick stop between activities. Spending time around a meal is one of the most familiar ways to make an outing feel like a family day.
It also gave us a pause before the afternoon’s games and relaxation. With the morning programme behind us, the rest of our time at the garden could take on a more playful mood.
Games and Time to Unwind at Bali Botanic Garden
The afternoon brought games and a chance to relax at Kebun Raya Bali. This was the part of the day for joining in, enjoying the group activities, and taking a break from our usual routine.
Games give colleagues a different way to spend time together. There is room for a little friendly competition, encouragement, and the simple fun of taking part. The activity becomes something the group shares, beyond the tasks we normally work on together.
We also made time for what we casually call “healing”: slowing down, enjoying a change of surroundings, and letting ourselves unwind. No complicated programme was needed. A break outdoors and time with the team were part of the point.
We wanted both sides of the afternoon to have space. Joining a game can be fun, and a quiet pause can be just as welcome. A good gathering gives people a chance to enjoy the day without making every minute feel busy.
For us, this part of the itinerary brought the family spirit of the outing into focus. We had set aside time to be together, and the afternoon gave us room to enjoy it.
A Little More Exploring Before Our Evening Meal
After the games and downtime, we continued with more walking and exploring. It was an easy way to keep the outing going before our next meal stop.
These less structured moments deserve a place in a team gathering too. You do not always need a planned activity to enjoy one another’s company. Sometimes, a walk and an open conversation are enough.
Having that time in the programme helped us keep the day relaxed. We could move from one part of the outing to the next without treating every stop as something to rush through.
Then it was time to bring everyone together again for an early evening meal.
One More Meal Together at Oemah Sari Resto
Before returning to Denpasar, we stopped at Oemah Sari Resto for an early evening meal. It gave us one more chance to sit down together after the day’s visits and activities.
There is something nice about ending an outing around a table. The main activities are behind you, and there is time to settle in before the journey home.
For our Megaya team family, this final meal was part of the same simple idea that shaped the whole day: make time for one another. Prayer, walking, games, and shared food had each given us a different way to do that.
Oemah Sari Resto was our last stop before heading back to Denpasar, bringing the day towards a comfortable close.
Heading Home with a Shared Story
After our meal, we returned to Denpasar. Our day out had taken us through moments of gratitude, exploring, play, and rest, all with the same purpose: strengthening the bonds within the Megaya team.
Looking back at the programme, it is the mix that makes this gathering special to us. We had meaningful time at the temples, space to enjoy the outdoors, and several chances to simply sit and talk.
An annual gathering gives us a shared experience to carry back into our everyday lives. It is a reminder that our relationships deserve attention alongside the work we do together.
We hope to keep nurturing that feeling of family throughout the year, through the way we communicate, support one another, and make space for connection.
Thank You, Megaya Team Family
To everyone who shared the day with us: thank you for being part of Megaya Team Gathering 2026. Each person contributes to the character of our team, and we are grateful for the opportunity to keep growing together.
Our October 24 gathering was a chance to step away from the workshop and enjoy another side of being a team. We came together for prayer, shared meals, games, and time outdoors, with family bonds at the heart of the occasion.
For those who know Megaya Bali through our clothing and manufacturing work, we hope this gives you a warm glimpse of the people behind the garments.
Here is to more time together, more shared experiences, and another year of growing as the Megaya family.
Growing together, inside the workshop and beyond.
